Dear All,

I have arranged a first meeting on Saturday 6th March 2010.

I live in the village of Stratfield Saye between Reading and Basingstoke, we have a small village hall at reasonable cost of £8/hour so we have decided to hold this first meeting there and enclose a map showing the location. Hopefully the hall should be fairly easy to find and is about 1½ Miles from The Wellington Arms Hotel which is situated on the A33, approximately 6 miles North of Basingstoke.

The hall is booked from 11.00am until 3.00pm and my wife has volunteered to provide tea/coffee with sandwiches etc. at mid-day. I am suggesting we contribute £4 each which should cover our costs, any surplus can be put towards the next meeting.

There will be tables available and I would encourage as many as possible to bring along completed models or part built items which will be the focus of this first meeting. Please do not worry about the standard of the model, mine is only part built with a long way to go and is nowhere near those seen at Sandown. Alan Barsby of MJ Engineering has promised to attend, there will also be one or two others with completed models so plenty of advice for us novices and non-engineers should be available.

At the meeting we can discuss how everyone would like to proceed in future. I know from amongst this group there are one or two with specialist knowledge who could perhaps give a talk, we are also invited to meet up with other similar groups.

I would be grateful for a reply indicating whether you are able to attend to help catering arrangements. Please feel free to mention this meeting to others who may be interested.
