Some 3 years ago I started to build the Modelworks 4" Burrell for my son David. I chose the Burrell because it's a rugged engine and David could help build it without getting me to machine all the bits. During the building we referred to Julia Old's website often to get the latest build details and any snags and tips, and found it very helpful.

This is an invaluabe reference for anyone building this Traction Engine.

'Julia says' - The content is basically the same as the web pages but it has had the spelling mistakes corrected and been formatted for printing.
It includes all the kits; painting, lining and steaming accounts up until June 2006. I am offering the printed diaries as a service to my loyal readers and to expand the reach of the diary.
