This model was constructed by one of our foreign customers Doug Meller.

Doug writes

You will note that I have glued in rubber strips between the strakes to provide some degree of cushioning on hard surfaces (without going for a full tyre). It is an experiment at the moment and can be easily reversed. I do miss the look of the strakes, and also leaving strake marks on dirt surfaces.

I do hope that more people take up building this engine as it is a really good looking model, and very accurate to the full size engine.
